As of April 2016, I am a graduate of the University of Michigan's college of Literature, Science and the Arts with a degree in Communication Studies and a Minor in Writing from U-M's Sweetland Center for Writing. I grew up in Northville, Michigan, a small town only thirty minutes away from Ann Arbor.

Outside of my coursework at the University of Michigan, I was a four-year member of RhythM Tap Ensemble and EnCore Hip Hop team, and the lead events coordinator for Dance Mix at Michigan. I also taught tap dance to local high school students in the last two years of my time as an undergraduate student. Dance has always played an important part of my life, and that was no exception during college.

Each piece included on this website has held special meaning for me, in that they allowed me to explore new ways of thinking and writing. Specifically, as a writing minor I was able to delve into a more personal style of writing and discover where my true passions lie: people. While I spent much time during the gateway course putting into words my love of dance, the capstone and all of the classes in between gave me the opportunity to write using creative non-fiction telling stories of others and sharing their experiences and interactions. This is what ultimately led me to my capstone topic of secrets. I find myself constantly enthralled with entertaining stories about real people, and I hope that this shines in my writing.
